Nanjing Forestry University

Nanjing Forestry University is located at the foot of Zijin Mountain with beautiful scenery and the Bank of Xuanwu Lake. It is a provincial key university jointly built by the central and local governments. It was selected into the national "double first class" construction university list in 2017. Nanjing Forestry University, formerly known as the Forestry Department of Central University (founded in 1902) and Jinling University (founded in 1910), was one of the only three forestry colleges in China at that time. In 1955, the Forestry Department of Huazhong Agricultural University (Wuhan University, Nanchang University and the Forestry Department of Hubei Agricultural University) was merged. In 1972, it was renamed Nanjing Forestry Institute. In 1983, it was renamed Nanjing Forestry University. In 1985, it was renamed Nanjing Forestry University.

College of Biology and the Environment

The College of biology and environment is a new college with rich history and vitality. Its history can be traced back to the forest departments of Central University, Jinling University and Wuhan University. In 2014, it was established by ecology, botany, zoology, biochemistry, molecular biology and environmental science of the former college of forest resources and environment, and environmental engineering of the College of chemical engineering and the College of materials science and engineering.
